4th Annual JD’s Gym Fall Strongman/Strongwoman Competition

Join us for our annual fall strongman/strongwoman competition.

This will be a U.S.S. sanctioned competition where the top three in the Open. Masters, and Teen classes qualify for Nationals.

Divisions:

Teen Men (one class)

Teen Women (one class)

Novice Women: Lightweight (<165.4lbs) and Heavyweight (>165.4lbs).

Open Women: Lightweight (<165.4lbs) and Heavyweight (>165.4lbs).

Novice Men: Lightweight (<198.41lbs) and Heavyweight (>198.4lbs)

Open Men: Lightweight (<181.4lbs), Middleweight (<220.4) Heavyweight (>220.4lbs)

Masters Men (40 years old and up): one class

Masters Women (40 years old and up): one class

JD’s Gym 2nd Annual Fall Strongman/Strongwoman Events and Rules:

Events

Event # 1) Log Clean and Press:

Competitor will clean the log from the ground and press to a full lockout position. The athlete must wait for the “down” command before cleaning and pressing again (athlete must clean every rep). The competitor will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible. Competitors may use chalk, wrist wraps, and elbow sleeves. No bench shirts or elbow wraps allowed.

Teen Men: 150lbs
Teen Women: 80lbs
Masters Women: 80lbs
Novice Women (Lightweight/Heavyweight): 80lbs/100lbs
Open Women (Lightweight/Heavyweight): 120lbs/140lbs
Novice Men (Lightweight/Heavyweight): 150lbs/180lbs
Open Men (Lightweight/Middleweight/Heavyweight): 180lbs/200lbs/220lbs
Masters Men: 150lbs

Event # 2) Axle Deadlift:

The competitor must deadlift the axle to a full lockout position. No excessive hitching is allowed and there must be continuous upward movement. Athlete must wait for the “down” command to credited with a successful rep. No sumo stance allowed. The athlete will complete as many reps as possible in 60 seconds. Straps are allowed. No deadlift suits allowed.

Teen Women: 185lbs
Masters Women: 185lbs
Novice Women (Lightweight/Heavyweight): 185lbs/225lbs
Open Women (Lightweight/Heavyweight): 250lbs/300lbs
Novice Men (Lightweight/Heavyweight): 375lbs/425lbs
Open Men (Lightweight/Middleweight/Heavyweight): 425lbs/450lbs/500lbs
Masters Men: 375lbs

Event # 3) Sandbag over bar for max reps (head-to-head):

A competitor will be positioned one each side of the yoke. At the start command, the first athlete will load the sandbag over the bar at which point the competitor on the other side will load the sandbag back over the yoke. Each athlete will have fifteen seconds to load the sandbag successfully. Both athletes will continue until they can not complete a rep in the 15 second time frame. Max reps wins.

Teen Men: 200lbs
Teen Women: 125lbs
Masters Women: 125lbs
Novice Women (Lightweight/Heavyweight): 125lbs/150lbs
Open Women (Lightweight/Heavyweight): 150lbs/175lbs
Novice Men (Lightweight/Heavyweight): 200lbs/235lbs
Open Men (Lightweight/Middleweight/Heavyweight): 200lbs/235lbs/275lbs
Masters Men: 200lbs

Event # 4) Farmers Hold for max time:

Athletes will pick the farmers at the start command and then proceed to hold it for as long as possible. Once the weight drops, the competitor is finished. Max time wins.
